Heading to Philadelphia for Denosumab pretrial appointment

I recently returned home from M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. Unfortunately after 7 months treatment with PegIntron, there is no sign of regression or calcification in my lung metastases. The small nodules which are too many to count are stable but the largest one continues to grow throughout treatment. My oncologist wants me to get in the Denosumab trial so I am headed to Philadelphia next week for an appointment with Dr. Staddon. If I can't get in the trial the other possible options are a thoracotomy, RFA (radio frequency ablation) or proton therapy. However my doctor thinks the tumor is probably too large for RFA at this point. For any of you in the Philadelphia trial does anyone have any suggestions of hotels close to the trial site that are reasonably priced but decent? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Mary, Dr. Staddon is terrific! You are going to be in great hands with him. As Diane said the entire staff at the center is exgtremely caring and nice!!! Stay strong and keep me updated!

Hi Mary... I sure hope that you have positive results like Marjie has had. I feel cautious about singing Denosumab's praises too loudly because I don't want to give false hope, but I am thankful for this drug, for the researchers who developed it, and for the God who created it all! I will be praying for you...

You'll love Dr. Staddon. He's concerned, warm and wonderful. His staff is too. We'll be there Friday--sorry we'll miss you. Since we live only an hour away we don't use a hotel.
