My daughter is scheduled to have this done next week. Can anyone tell me what this is? What can I expect? Is this a painful procedure and will she have to stay in the hospital overhight?

So glad to hear that Ashley's surgery went well. Hope the follow up is just as good. Let us know. In the meantime, relax and have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Sorry I'm just getting to you. As you will soon realize, these problems keep going on and never stop, at least for me that's how it is! I've been out of town running around everywhere in Philly and NY meeting all new doctors! Three days ago I got some pretty surprising news so needless to say I've been a little speechless lately!
I hope your daughter is doing ok from her embolizations and surgeries! I wish you all the luck and a quick recovery because I know what you all are going through and it is so hard! We all ask why me, but what can you do but deal with it! Be strong and mostly be strong for your daughter, because I don't know what I would have done without my mom or husband. I owe them my life!

Hi Pam, Welcome to the site. I, too, have a 22 year old daughter with GCT of the sacrum. Although I don't know anything about Vanderbilt, I can certainly relate to the stresses and problems that come along with this. You can see how we treated Ilana's GCT by looking at my page or Ilana's. Feel free to drop me a note if you ever have questions or just want to vent. Diane
