Hi Nicole, Good question. I'm not totally sure on this, but if I'm understanding what I read on this site... it can come back. I believe if even one cell remains at the original site it can spread to a different bone, or reoccur in the same place. Please fellow GCT members... correct me if that's not right. My tumor was in my femur, I now have something happening in my ankle, a slightly swollen spot that sometimes has a very sharp pain but it feels different than my knee/leg did... I had an exray at the local clinic and nothing was found. However, I still feel something so am monitoring it. I'll go see my GCT doc soon to have an exray as a follow up. I'm hoping I tweaked something and it's just taking time to heal. Best of luck on yours... I'd like to know the outcome, please update us. Take care!

Concerned and have a question...

Hello,

I was 23 (12 yrs ago) when I had a GCT removed from my leg/knee. The tumor was removed and replaced with bone from my hip and pins. I was told that there is a correlation between the tumor I had and tumors in the lungs (which have been clear) however I was curious if it is common to have GCT return elsewhere in the body? I am having the same symptoms in my ankle that I had with my knee (on the same side as the surgery) and I'm concerned something may be wrong. I am obviously going to cal… Continue
