Just thought I'd share my latest experience because I really find everyone's stories to be very helpful to me. I have learned more from this site than any other place I have found information.
So here it is:
I had surgery on Jan 22, 2009 to remove the head and neck of my femur and have a Partial Hip Replacement. I went in for surgery around 10am and surgery seemed to run smoothly. thank you for the interest. the first one was benign. corey's tumors are now malignant and is being treated with experimental chemo because they are so rare. he has had different drugs each time.this time he's on vinorelbine and gemicitabine and taxotee. it has been doing the job. His dr's (team) have not seen another case like his. yes it has been very stressful but we have faith and many prayers for him. the reason his gct have metastacised is from the radiation, which can cause that to happen. i have really learned alot about cancer since all of this has happened. hs dr's are like family now and they say he's very "unique" with his gct's. please keep in touch. best wishes to you. susan

KIM HOW ARE YOU DOING. i HAD SX IN JULY 28,2008. MY GCT WAS IN MY LEFT DISTAL FEMUR. i AM STILL HAVING TROUBLE HEALING. I HAVE HAD NO INFECTION BUT JUST SORENESS IN MY KNEE. I FIND IF I USE ONE CRUTCH IT HELPS SOME . SOMETIMES I GET IMPATIENT BECAUSE I WANT TO WORK & HAVE MY LIFE BACK. MY AGE IS 62 THAT MAY BE WILL TAKE ME LONGER. I HAD MY SX AT DUKE IN DURHMAN N.
