About Me:
My name is Emely, I'm 24 and at the moment I live back in my homecountry Sweden with my lovely boyfriend Jeff.

To make a story short:
I discovered my GCT february 2006 whilst I was living and studying in Gold Coast, Australia. I then had some pain in my left knee for a little bit more than half a year.

In January-06 I slipped at work (worked at a busy restaurant) and hurt myself like the 3rd time in a short time, Jeff told me to go to a doctor.
I was sent around to several doctors and specialists and then finally to do an X-ray in feb-06.

Late a friday night on february 3rd I had a missed call on my cell phone.
I was busy at work but went out quickly to check my messages. It was the last specialist I'd been to saying "Emely call me back urgently, the situation with your leg is really serious. " leaving me his mobile number.

I had a big block of ice in my stomach, feeling like I was about to faint. My guts were telling me something was really wrong.
Called him back and he told me I had a growth in my left tibia as large as a tennis ball, he didn't know if it was maliganent or benign but that I should have it checked up as soon as possible.

From there things went fast. Because I am swedish I am not entitled to the medical treatments in Australia, and my insurance would rather pay for me to fly "home" than paying for surgery in Australia.

There I was, after walking around happy as, 2 days later sitting on a flight back to my home country on the other side of the world.
Landed on Feb 6th in -11 degrees and 1 metre snow. Did operations and sat on my mom's couch for 3 months.

Then I went straight back to Australia on crutches. And the way I fought to come back to live a normal life..
Ask me about it..

Hey Emely! It is really great to be incontact with another with the exact issue! I too have had no recurrence and am finally moving on with my life! Was a long and stressful year. Glad to have had the one year post-op and all clear! Take care.

Can you imagine I was worried about wearing high heels!! That is the least of my concerns today. Now all I want to now is when I will be able to wear sneakers. My last surgery went well but I still do not know if I am healing. I will have some answers in a few weeks.
How long have you been tumor free?

Hi Emily I am not sure if you remember me but we have spoke through email last year. You were the first person I was able to find on the internet with this tumor. Congrats on making it to the pint where you only have to see the Dr once a year!
