About Me:
I was diagnosed with a "suspected GCT" and spent 5 weeks thinking that I had one. Then I saw an orthopedic oncologist who disagreed with that diagnosis. Instead, he diagnosed it as an enchondroma -harmless.
How do GCTs affect you?

January 2008
Treatment of primary tumor:
Because it turned out not to be GCT, my treatment is to keep an eye on it with x-rays every 6 months

Would you recommend this facility and it's Doctors to another GCT patient?

Great News -not GCT

I went to Dr. O'Donnell at UCSF yesterday. He does not think I have a GCT, but rather an enchondroma, which is the equivalent to "nothing". I don't need surgery or even a biopsy. They will just watch it with x-rays every 6 months for a few years. I am totally relieved that I don't have a GCT and don't have to suffer through all that comes with GCT. Suspected GCT

I had an MRI of my left knee in mid January 2008 due to pain and a suspected tear of the medial meniscus. I had an unacceptable level of pain while skiing. In additional to the meniscal tear, the MRI showed a 2cm x 2cm tumor in the head of the fibula. Then I had x-rays and a bone scan. After the bone scan, the radiologist called it a suspected GCT.
