I went to my primary care dr. today and she refered me to a rumatologist!? I am so frustrated, they are going to try to drain it. My mass did not trans-illuminate. They still have not conducted any x-rays on my wrist. I am in so much pain and this rumatologist appt is in December! I worry about possible fracture of my radius in the mean time. I wish they would just give me the referal for the orthapedic surgeon. If you have any insight or advice please share! Thank you

My rumatology appt is all the way in December! I will be in agony the whole time I know it. It makes me want to cry.

Thank you Carol, I meant to say that I went to my primary care doctor 3 times, all with the diagnosis of a ganglion cyst... However I know better, especially after all the research I have done. I am in terrible pain as of right now. It feels like someone has taken a hammer to my wrist. My referal appt is this Friday. Thanks again for your insight and I will request an MRI.

We're having the same problems with the economy but I don't think to the same degree as the US. I'm a dental assistant, so there are jobs out there, it's just my mental health right now that I don't know if I can get back to work.

I'm glad to hear that you are doing well, 2 miles is pretty decent if you ask me! Sometimes I might get a pain in my leg if I step on it the wrong way or going up stairs carrying something too heavy. All in all a massive improvement. Do you work at all?

I'm doing pretty well physically, my leg is pretty much normal now, only hurts if I overdo it. Mentally not as good, I'm out of work and don't know if I can get back to it yet.

Hi Carol, If doctors have an interest they are not showing it. I am in the process of searching for any peer reviewed articles that involves genetic testing in diagnosis. Apparently there is somoe research in being able to identify GCT earliar based on relocation of chromosomes. Bassically I am contacting any researchers of GCT to find out if they know of any familial connections for GCT. Center for Disease Control is also suggesting that I contact Health Departments for previous residences to see if there is a geographic clustering of GCT cases. While environmental toxins are not thought to be a cause, finding out if there are clusters of cases anywhere near where we lived .

My wife is recovering well. My daughter is having a tougher time as she had sacrum removed.

We know of only one family on the planet that this has happened to and they can identify cause as Paget's disease. Paget's disease has been ruled out. It starts to make me wonder if there was some exposure to some environmental toxin. Puzzling and it scares the heck out of us as we hope no one else in our family is affected.
