Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to know whether any of you have been feeling more tired than usual?

I had this same problem when i first had the tumor and now have it again.. also my hair has been falling out quite alot this also happend when i first had the tumor...

I dont know if my body is deprived of some kind of vitamin because of the tumor?

would be great to hear if anyone else has the same problem..

Hi Dolina,

i'm ilana (a new member). I have been absolutely exhausted since my tumor (bertha) has decided to take over my pelivs. i don't know if it's the GCT or the heavy narcotics i am on that cause my tiredness, but i tend to sleep all day (a lot like Garfield; i sleep and eat.) anyway, i was going to throw up a thread just like yours because i find my exhaustion so debilitating that i can't go to work. Does anyone else have to be at home and in bed all the time?
My doctors suggested taking a multi-vitamin to keep my strength and energy up. The pill made me really sick, so i stopped taking it, but it might work for you. They sell multi-vitamins at all supermarkets/cvs/gnc's etc.
I have also noticed that when i shower or brush my hair i lose more than usual. luckily, i have stupidly thick hair so i don't really mind, its almost like a free hair cut.

Yes. I seem to loose much more hair than usual, like by the brush fulls. I think it throws our whole system out of whack. As far as tiredness... Ive never been much of a napper, but it almost has become a necessity these days.
I didnt notice the connection until reading this posting, but I have to say I also experience this.

Hi girls,

Well that is very very interesting to read!!!! I have ALOT of hair loss just like both of you in the shower i pull out clumps of hair.. I dont know what it might be? I have tried the mulivitamins but they just dont seem to work.. Im not much of a napper either but these days i have to have a lie down in the afternoons..

Is there some kind of expert we could contact that could tell us a bit more about what causes this? will be interesting to find out ..

I was just thinking the same thing. My hair has been falling out so badly. I thought it was from the anesthesia but it will be a year since my last surgery so I don't think it can be that. Lately I have been so exhausted, I find it hard somedays to get motivated to do the most simplest things. I do not have recurrence that I know of but of course now I am worried!!

Hi theresa,

Maybe just get an xray of the site again? or are you having regular checkups anyway? After the first surgery i had noticed the hair falling out alot less but i think that took a few months..

I know what you mean about getting motivated it is so hard.. I am going to try some multivitamins again to see but i had noticed after drinking a musashi protien drink i had alot more energy than usual..

hi everyone,

I have also been ridiculously tired since being diagnosed. I am one who would often take naps before so I thought it was just my own laziness/system, but now that I read your posts I realize that it may be GCT-related. I have no problem sleeping all day and am always tired. I also find it easy to sleep during the day and am usually up quite late in the night. It is affecting my work as I am often too tired to go in and be effective. I originally thought it was the pain killers but I am not taking them anymore. My day is considered "productive" if I do one errand, as I don't have energy for much more. As far as I know, there is no recurrence in my tumor but maybe it just hasn't been seen yet on the xrays?

I also have been losing hair at a greater rate than usual. I thought originally it was due to the fact that I was showering less than usual, because it was so exhausting, and thus brushing my hair less (having curly hair), it was just a buildup. But these can't be coincidences if others are having them too! I had to add my two cents. Thanks for the forum!!!

I do lose a lot of hair and I am constantly tired. I just attributed it to me being stressed and chasing around my four year old, but maybe there is more to it? I'm not sure. If you ask your doctor about it, let me know what he says!

I have just found out that my hair might be falling out because of the hormone inbalance from after having my baby 4 months ago, I found this quite strange... but i find thats not the case as i had my first child i didnt loose hair until a few months before i was diagnosed with GCT

Do you guys think the tumor grows due to a hormone inbalance????

Hi, I'm new to this site too, I thought maybe being tired is because I'm almost 57 but maybe this is contributing to it also. Interesting! This site has been such a great find, thanks everyone for all the input.

I realize it's been awhile, but my g-d am I tired these days. I have been having the hardest time being productive at work and I keep falling behind and then overworking myself to play catch up. Has anyone found anything that helps or discovered any real reasons why this might be? I'm already talking vitamin's and I can't tell if they actually help or not.
