hi i am 22yrs old.. and i have had knee pain for 4 months.. n had Xrays and MRIs done. the first doctor i went to told me there was nothing wrong with me. then i had went to a diff specilist at temple and he told me its a tumor. he sent me for a bone scan and it came back active. the thing is he sent me to the ongologest n she said she not sure what it is but wont even do the byopsy like my doc from temple wants her to. can anyone tell how they found out and what i can tell them to look for. this pain is killing me.. and im scared its gonna take to long and it will get worse! thank you for your help everyone
Faina, You'll need to have a biopsy done before they can tell you for sure if it's GCT. Dr. Richard Lackman is an orthopedic oncologist in Philly who has a great deal of experience with GCT. You may want to call him. Good luck and keep us posted.
Thank you for the replie. i have been to his office but they made my appt for a diff doctor in his practice Dr. andrea evenski.. who giggled at me when i told her that i was sent there to get it taken n out and have it bone graft which made me feel very uncontrollable and i was very upset after that visit. she had looked me in the face n told me that she dose not wanna do surgery n that my pain is from sumthing else, even though there is nothing else at all wrong in my knee. so today i called my original doctor and had told him what happend with Dr. Andrea Evenski and i was told he would call me back and i also called her office and told them i am optining for the surgery. so they will also call me bck. they will call me on thurs and my other doctor next tuesday. thank you again for the advice and the replie. ill keep it all updated.. all i know is that the pain is gettin worse and so is the swelling.
